With the recent massive list of spell changes coming in Shadowlands, one easily overlooked but very important change is that many AoE abilities are being capped between 5 and 8 targets. Astute readers may remember that a similar change was found on the PTR late in Legion, but abandoned before hitting live servers, seemingly intended to cut back on using cooldowns to burst down inordinately large pulls in Mythic+ dungeons and raids.
